TD+30: In the Belly of the Machine
TD+30 is known by the crew of The PCA Due Return as “The Belly of the Machine”. The machine inside which The Due Return landed was more specifically an Organi-Mech V308 flying in Plateron Orbit, D.D.E. 19-108, offset from Blue-Hue Scale.
The Organi-Mech came from a family of Organi-Mechs, the Brotherhood of Undeniable Security (B.U.S.), who successfully defended all of NGC7318B, one of five galaxies clustered inside of Stephan’s Quintet. The Brotherhood of Undeniable Security were 9 mechs created by the Shinotians to fend off various attacks from Keest; like BIllet Swarms, Yanti Raids, and Flinger Showers. Each Organi-Mech stood at nearly 1000 meters, weighed upwards to 25,000 tons, and all 9 traveled together within the vast confines of Stephan’s Quintet.
V308 was flying alongside his brothers at 8,000 kilometers/second in Plateron Orbit when The Due Return arrived inside his stomach, floating in an ocean of vegetable oils and hydrogen fuel.
After the crew survived a few earthly weeks off their dwindling food supply, Wilderness & Wilderness created Flog, a substance formed from the fuels the boat floated on combined with the maximized photonic energy of each modified crew member.
The modified crew members pulled their axons from their lateral geniculate body and terminated them in the 4th layer, creating anti-matter in periodic shifts for many weeks straight. Finally the experiment worked, and Flog fed the crew for the following two years that the ship swashed inside the darkness of V308’s stomach.
Dahlia Sunshine chose to depart the ship at the beginning of its second year. Dahlia carried a wireless voice recorder with her up and through V308’s massive frame. She recorded her travels for 4 days and nights, finally reaching V308’s skull, where through the Organi-Mech’s eyes she could see the space and time pass her by, dying only moments later.
____________ boarded The Due Return the day of Dahlia’s death, finding himself positioned impeccably in the 15th squared-square of Blue’s Labyrinth, a competition of balance and wit played off and on for a year inside The Belly in hopes of determining Captainship. Due to his miraculous winning placement, __________________ was donned Captain of The Due Return.
